About the Role
The Company is seeking a Vice President of Software Engineering to lead its core development team. The successful candidate will be responsible for aligning technical engineering objectives with business goals, leading the engineering team to establish best practice standards and processes, and championing new ideas for business growth and platform innovation. This role requires a seasoned professional with a strong background in SaaS product development, experience in modernizing architectures, and a deep understanding of open-source technologies. The VP will be a key partner to the leadership team, ensuring the right talent is in place to support the development pipeline and fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and accountability.
Applicants for the Vice President of Software Engineering position at the company should have a minimum of 10 years' commercial software development experience, with at least 8 years in leadership roles, and a degree in computer science or a related field. Proficiency in modern architectures, including MicroServices, Typescript, React, and AWS, is essential, as is experience with Agile, Scrum, Lean, and Kanban methodologies. The role demands a great leader, team builder, and communicator, with the ability to mentor and motivate staff, and a proven track record in project management and process improvement. The VP will be expected to strike a balance between timely delivery and future direction, and to ensure that the development team operates with a high level of quality and efficiency.
