4LEAF, Inc. is a professional engineering services firm specializing in providing services to municipal Planning, Building, and Public Works Departments throughout the United States. We are seeking Planning Technicians in the Los Angeles Area, California.

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Planning Technician is entry-level paraprofessional work. The Planning Technician devotes a significant amount of time on routine administrative tasks. A Planning Technician often works closely with the public on a regular basis to provide customer service on planning issues. Successful Planning Technicians may be asked to perform professional-level (Assistant Planner) duties of limited complexity as a trainee. Makes oral and written presentations and performs related professional and technical planning duties as assigned.

TYPICAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Typical duties assigned to the Assistant Planner position include, but are not limited to the following :

• Assist with planning and zoning matters at the public counter; confer with and advise architects, builders, attorneys, contractors, engineers, and the public regarding City development policies, standards and application requirements; provide and clarify information relative to zoning, general plan compliance, signage and other issues.
• Conduct field visits; review and conduct inspections for compliance with certificates of use, occupancies and requests for zoning or land use variances.
• Perform other related work as required.
