About St. Paul Academy and Summit School :
St. Paul Academy and Summit School (SPA) is a coeducational, non-sectarian, college preparatory day school serving more than 920 students in kindergarten through grade 12. Our two campuses are located approximately a mile apart in St. Paul, Minnesota, serving Grades K-5 on our Goodrich Campus and Grades 6-12 on our Randolph Campus. The school draws students from St. Paul, Minneapolis, and throughout the eastern and western suburbs.

Position Begins : August 2025
Status : 1.0 Full Time, Exempt
Department : Instructional Faculty; Lower school PreK
Salary Range : $45,000- $65,000 based on years of experience and degree level

Position Description :
Successful candidates will bring a depth of experience and a strong understanding of child development. Candidates must be able to teach all core subjects (literacy, math, and social studies), create developmentally appropriate curricula, foster a nurturing, engaging classroom and have deep love for the ages and stages of Pre-Kindergarten students. Collaboration with teaching partners, colleagues, and families is essential. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are required, as is knowledge of best instructional practices in literacy, math, and social studies.
Preferred qualifications include experience with Responsive Classroom, Primary / Singapore Math, and / or Reggio Emilia, and DHS Rule 3.
Candidates must be committed to developing cultural competence in their teaching and working effectively in diverse environments. This includes differentiating instruction, collaborating effectively with colleagues and families, and demonstrating strong interpersonal and cross-cultural communication skills to build rapport and trust with individuals from diverse backgrounds.

Overall curriculum planning with PreKindergarten Coordinator
Daily Lesson planning
Student progress monitoring
Observations
Work Sampling / Documentation
Parent / Guardian Conferences
Family communication
Supporting students with classroom needs including clothing changes, hygiene, etc.
Outdoor play and supervision
Attending Faculty Meetings
Additional requirements include :
Ability to lift 35 lbs, sit on small chairs and / or floor
Occasional attendance at school events outside of school hours
Attend Professional Development as required
