Description :

Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse needed for a birthing unit.

This position requires a rotating day / night schedule with 36 hours per week guaranteed.

The birthing unit follows a Labor, Delivery, Recovery, and Postpartum (LDRP) model.

Nurses are expected to be competent in all areas of the LDRP model.

Approximately 1300 deliveries occur annually.

There are 21 rooms, a two-bed triage room, and two operating rooms.

Staffing guidelines align with standard nurse-to-patient ratios :

1 : 1 for Pitocin and active labor / intermittent monitoring

1 : 2 for cervical ripening and high-risk medication like Magnesium Sulfate and Insulin drips

1 : 3 for Antepartum and Postpartum couplets
