Faith-based medical center looking for a full-time PSR- Translator to join our growing administrative team! This role will focus on providing Spanish translation and interpretation services for on-site medical care. This role will assist the Front Office and Medical staff with our Spanish-speaking patients. This role will also provide translation / interpretation support for our vaccination and outreach programs.

Requirements :

High School diploma required, Associate degree or higher preferred. One year of experience in a healthcare environment is preferred.
Fluency in spoken and written Spanish and English required.
Computer literacy with efficiency in e-mail programs and with Microsoft Word required; familiarity with Excel spreadsheet for record-keeping desired. Competency with medical terminology and concepts, with healthcare experience preferred
Must be able to learn to use multi-line telephone and messaging systems.
Must be able to work collaboratively in a busy multi-cultural health care practice.

Job Summary :

Provide telephone support and community outreach to patients identified within the practice.

Collaborate with Latino community organizations and provide information to them on public health programs available for low-income families.

Provide Spanish interpretation services as needed for other practice provider appointments.

Provide assistance to the Front Office, Medical Records, Billing and other ELFHCC staff with our Spanish speaking patients.

Assist medical front desk with scheduling of Spanish-speaking patients.

Assist patients with scheduling and coordinating follow-up appointments in the community. i.e., ultrasound appointments, WIC appointments, specialist appointments.

Assist nurses with Spanish-language telephone line, including recording outgoing messages, daily listening to and translating of messages for nursing staff, assisting with call-backs when necessary.

Assist in creating Spanish-language education and outreach materials for healthcare patients.

Assist in translating written communication to patients about medical issues.

Communicate patient issues and concerns to licensed medical staff for triage.

knowledge of Portuguese a plus

Compensation :
