Position Definition :

Perform daily activities of the Laundry Department in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards to ensure that the facility is maintained in a clean, safe, and sanitary manner.

Essential Duties :

• Collect all linen from outside collection bins as needed; fold, stack and distribute clean laundry materials to residents and departments daily.
• Distribute 1 full cart (Minimum) of personal clothes per shift.
• Clean, wash, sanitize and disinfect all laundry items and areas including floors, walls, ceilings, equipment, etc. using proper cleaning and disinfecting solutions.
• Ensure that work areas are maintained in a clean, safe, comfortable and attractive manner.
• Ensure that work areas are free of all hazardous objects and that all equipment, tools and supplies are properly stored at all times.
• Ensure that established Universal precautions and infection control, isolation, fire, safety, and sanitation practices and procedures are maintained and followed when performing laundry duties.
• Promptly report any and all hazardous conditions and equipment to the supervisor and / or Administrator.
• Participate in departmental projects and studies as needed.
• Assist others in lifting heavy equipment and supplies as requested.
• Perform additional related duties as assigned.
