Indiana Tax Court
The Indiana Tax Court is currently accepting applications for a Judicial Law Clerk. This is a full-time position with an anticipated start date in April 2025. Applicants interested in either a term clerk position or a career clerk position will be considered. About the Tax Court :
The Tax Court is one of three State appellate courts in Indiana, alongside the Supreme Court and the Court of Appeals. The Tax Court hears cases arising under Indiana’s tax laws and is uniquely situated among Indiana’s appellate courts. It regularly considers questions related to administrative law, the rules of evidence and procedure, statutory interpretation, and constitutional interpretation. Decisions of the Court are reviewed directly by the Indiana Supreme Court.
Salary Statement :
The salary for this position is $87,000 - $120,000 based on experience and qualifications.
A Day in the Life :
The Indiana Tax Court hires law clerks to work under the supervision of Judge Justin L. McAdam. Duties are similar to those generally expected of appellate court law clerks and involve a variety of tasks, including :
- Legal research and writing
- Legal analysis
- Drafting orders and opinions
- Providing counsel to the judge and the Court
- Law clerks can expect to collaborate closely with other clerks, court personnel, and the judge
