Cataloging and E-Resources Librarian
Cadance Group seeks an innovative, future-focused Cataloging and E-resources Librarian for a federal library in Washington, D.C. The Cataloging and E-Resources Librarian is responsible for the print and electronic collection, including cataloging, e-resource management, maintaining the Integrated Library System (ILS), managing links and content on a Drupal-based Intranet, supporting LibGuides, and responding to general reference requests. The qualified candidate will meet all project obligations within the established deadlines.
Applicants must live within the D.C. metro area and be available to work onsite.
Requirements :
- Masters degree in library / information science from an ALA-accredited institution
- Experience in a government, academic, or research library technical services operations performing original and copy cataloging and applying metadata
- Hands-on experience with MARC 21 and RDA standards
- Strong knowledge and work experience using Library of Congress classification schema
- Experience with principles of authority control, including creating, selecting, and applying controlled vocabularies to local collections
- Experience in an Integrated Library System (ILS) system administration and operations. OCLC WorldShare Management Services experience preferred
- Experience in and / or practical working knowledge of library automation, and simple PC troubleshooting techniques
- Knowledge of content development and maintenance for intranet webpages and web-based information systems is preferred
- Experience working with law and / or business collections is preferred
- Experience with HTML is a plus
