Job Description
Assists registered pharmacists in the preparation, dispensing, and distribution of sterile and non-sterile medications and associated documentation. Maintains accurate records utilizing established policies and procedures to ensure medications are available and ready for patient administration when required. All activities are performed under the supervision of a pharmacist.
In addition to the roles of a pharmacy technician listed above, this position serves as part of the leadership team. These responsibilities include but are not limited to :
- Serves as a liaison between pharmacy technicians and other team members within the department.
- Provides informal supervisory oversight and documentation of the following in collaboration with the pharmacy leadership team :
Day-to-day operations, scheduling, and staffing when required to meet department needs.
Reports to Pharmacy Manager of Operations. Demonstrates support for the mission, values and goals of the organization through behaviors that are consistent with the CCMC standards.

About the Team
The Pharmacy Department at Connecticut Children's provides pharmaceutical services for both inpatients and outpatients. The department is responsible for dispensing medications daily for our inpatient population with additional services provided in the outpatient setting. The department consists of clinical pharmacists, specialists, pharmacy technicians as well as support personnel, who work together to assure patients receive the highest quality pharmaceutical care possible.
