Position Summary
The Student Leadership Development Teaching Fellow is a one-to-two-year appointment for a recent college graduate considering the fields of teaching, youth development, leadership development, and community-engaged learning as a lifelong pursuit and career. At Latin, the Student Leadership Development Teaching Fellow will have the opportunity to engage in various school-specific experiences with the same access to opportunities and professional development as full-time faculty. In addition to teaching courses in Student Leadership Development, possible experiences include sponsoring a club, coaching, attending conferences, and chaperoning domestic, international, Leadership Development, or Community-Engaged Learning related travel experiences.
Successful Student Leadership Development Teaching Fellows can re-commit to a second year in consultation with the Director of Student Leadership Development and the Associate Head of School.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Co-teach / teach Student Leadership Development classes in Upper and Middle School.
- Advise and mentor a group of students through our "Flight Time" advisory program.
- Facilitate co-curricular student leadership endeavors in Upper and Middle School.
Examples may include the Student Athlete Advisory Council, Speech & Debate, Young Women's Leadership Program, and Hawks Lead.
