Duties & Responsibilities :

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

Don't meet every single requirement? At ISDenver we are dedicated to building a diverse, inclusive, and authentic workplace, so if you're excited about this role but your past experience doesn't align perfectly with every qualification in the job description, we encourage you to apply. You may be just the candidate we are looking for!

  • Assume responsibility as the subject area teacher and / or as a co-teacher for one or more classes of assigned students, promoting the general progress and well being of individual students and of any class or group of students assigned, ensuring their holistic developmental needs are met - personal, social, emotional, and academic.

Plan, prepare and teach high quality lessons following course objectives and outlines for course of study in line with current best practice, taking into account the international dimension of the school population and the ISDenver Learning Principles and curriculum guidelines, including DEIB-based Social and Emotional curriculum.

  • Record student progress and attainment, giving timely, constructive, and developmentally appropriate oral and written feedback as outlined in ISDenver policies.

  • Actively promote positive professional partnerships between home and school by providing frequent and timely communication on classroom activities and guidance and advice to parents on educational and social / emotional matters, discussing academic and behavioral attitudes and achievements throughout the year.
  • Manage and maintain the classroom in compliance with requirements of government regulations and ISDenver safety policies and procedures.
  • Outside the classroom
  • Lead class field trips, overnight trips, and / or other out-of-classroom experiences according to school policies and procedures
