Adams & Martin Group has partnered with a well-established personal injury law firm in Santa Ana, CA, is seeking a highly skilled Legal Assistant / Litigation Secretary to join our team on a temp-to-hire basis. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with extensive experience in personal injury litigation, particularly catastrophic injury cases. The position offers a hybrid work schedule after an initial in-office training period.
The ideal candidate will have a strong litigation background, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to manage a high-volume caseload while working closely with attorneys and clients.
Key Responsibilities :
Prepare, format, and file legal documents (complaints, motions, discovery, trial documents, etc.) in state and federal courts
Calendar hearings, depositions, deadlines, and other case-related events
Draft and proofread correspondence, pleadings, and discovery responses
Coordinate and manage communication with clients, experts, and opposing counsel
Assist with trial preparation, including assembling exhibits, organizing case files, and preparing witness lists
Handle administrative duties such as e-filing, maintaining case files (both digital and physical), and managing attorney schedules
Conduct legal research and assist with case development as needed
Qualifications :
5+ years of experience as a Legal Assistant or Litigation Secretary in a personal injury firm
Strong knowledge of California court rules and e-filing systems (state and federal)
Proficiency in legal case management software (e.g., Clio, Filevine, or similar) and Microsoft Office Suite
Exceptional attention to detail, time management, and ability to handle multiple deadlines
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Experience assisting with trial preparation is highly preferred
Bilingual in Spanish is a plus but not required
