We are looking for an experienced Legal Counsel to join the Flix North America legal team. This generalist role will be responsible for directly managing the legal function related to data privacy, compliance matters associated with Flix's online sales platform and other technologies, and related transactions, agreements, and policies, while also assisting with other corporate legal matters, including advertising and marketing, corporate governance, litigation and disputes, labor and employment issues, contract drafting and negotiation, and any other areas as determined by Company needs. This position requires close collaboration and partnership with internal stakeholders, the business units, and other legal professionals and attorneys in the Legal department.
Your Tasks - Paint the world green
- Data privacy-related legal issues and reporting responsibilities, including compliance efforts, policy development and revision, training, and advising on process improvements and project implementation.
- Advise Marketing, Revenue Management, Business Development, and IT teams on complex legal and regulatory matters across North America.
- Manage response to complaints and concerns raised by customers, counterparties, and other data subjects concerning privacy issues.
- Assist with complex and routine litigation and disputes.
- Contract drafting and negotiation with customers and vendors.
- Communication with regulators, as necessary.
- Strategically engage with and manage outside counsel as needed.
- Other legal duties as may be assigned by the General Counsel or requested by internal stakeholders.
- Advise and assist with labor and employment matters.
