It will give you exposure to many departments and projects within Fisher Investments, as well as an opportunity to advise on many different legal areas. In this role, you may at times support the firm's institutional and / or private client businesses, work on employment matters, manage litigation, review contracts, advise on new and developing regulations and work on the firm's global expansion efforts into new jurisdictions and / or services. While we will take into consideration a candidate's experience when assigning work, you will not be pigeonholed at Fisher Investments. You will have the opportunity to work on a diverse set of issues and drive results across some of Fisher's most critical areas.The Day-to-Day :
- This is senior-level professional work in which lawyers get to develop in their roles, increase their skills, assume additional responsibility over time, and work independently
- You will work on a range of issues each day that may include :
- Supporting our institutional and / or private client businesses
- Working on employment and / or litigation matters as they arise
- Providing legal advice on new / changing regulations in various jurisdictions as needed
- Advising on intellectual property matters from time to time
- Reviewing contracts for the firm's vendors and business partners
- Providing advice to the firm's research group on security and / or trading matters
- Helping the firm's expansion efforts by assisting with the creation of new subsidiaries, obtaining licenses / permissions for expanded services in existing jurisdictions, and negotiating real estate contracts
- Coordinate with external counsel on various matters
- Train paralegals, fellow lawyers and business colleagues on new and / or changing regulationsYour Qualifications :
- Law degree from an accredited law school, with admission to a bar
- 4+ years of experience at a law firm, or at least 3 years of experience at a law firm coupled with 2+ years of in-house corporate experience
- Experience working on some of the matters listed in the Day-to-Day sectionC ompensation :
- 210,000-$240,000 base salary per year in the state of WA. New hires should expect to start at the lower end of the range depending on experience
