Job description

Job Full Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Billing Clerk with specialized knowledge in AAR (Association of American Railroads) rail car billing. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing, reviewing, and processing accurate billing for rail car movements in compliance with AAR standards and company policies.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Prepare and submit rail car billing in accordance with AAR rules and industry standards.
  • Review waybills, trip records, and other documentation to ensure billing accuracy.
  • Coordinate with operations, logistics, and accounting teams to resolve discrepancies.
  • Maintain accurate records of billing transactions and support documentation.
  • Monitor and reconcile billing reports and ensure timely submission to customers and railroads.
  • Respond to customer and carrier inquiries regarding billing issues.
  • Assist with audits and reporting as needed.
  • Stay current with AAR billing regulations and updates.

Qualifications :

  • Required : Minimum 2 years of experience in AAR rail car billing or a similar rail transportation billing role.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree in Accounting, Business, or related field preferred.
  • Strong understanding of rail industry terminology and billing practices.
  • Proficiency in billing software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
