Job descriptionKeep and maintain Red Cross Lifeguard certification, Red Cross CPR / AED certification for adult, infant and swimmer. Previous swim instruction and / or Lifeguarding experience is required. Must be able to successfully complete all lifeguarding pre-requisites to American Red Cross standards. Lifeguard / Deck Monitor Job Description
Reports to : Manager
Description :
The lifeguard / deck monitor is responsible for ensuring the safety of patrons and students in and around the pool area and preventing and responding to emergencies.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (including but not limited to) :
- Maintain constant surveillance of patrons in the pool area; act immediately and appropriately to secure safety of customers in the event of an emergency.
- Provide emergency care and treatment as required until the arrival of emergency medical services.
- Prepare and maintain appropriate incident reports.
- Present professional appearance and attitude at all times, and maintain a high standard of customer service.
- Perform various duties as directed to maintain a clean and safe facility.
- Make sure the pool area is always properly supervised and attended in accordance to American Red Cross standards.
- Assist instructors where necessary to maintain a safe lesson.
- Help parents / students go to the right pool area / check in.
Other Duties : Perform other duties as assigned.
Position Qualifications and Requirements :
Uniforms : Lifeguards are required to wear SafeSplash® uniforms. SafeSplash® Swim School will provide one (1) t-shirt per calendar year per employee. Additional uniforms must be purchased by the employee from SafeSplash® Swim School at or below cost. The uniform must be maintained in a clean, professional manner. If at any time a supervisor determines an employee's uniform is inappropriate he / she may require the employee to purchase an additional uniform. If at any time a uniform is not being worn during assigned instructing hours a supervisor will ask you to put on your uniform. If no uniform is present you will be required to buy a new uniform or be sent home without pay.
Hours : 3-30 hours per week
Compensation : Commensurate with experience and skills
Benefits / Perks (may vary by location) :
Compensation : $13.00 - $16.00 per hour
