Job descriptionCompetitive pay based on experience. Paid holidays - including your birthday. Gym membership Fun work that makes a difference in your community! Provide instruction for two to three sessions weekly (interested in 8-12 hours weekly). Learn and follow British Swim School's curriculum to ensure safe and competent lessons and environment. Comfort level teaching all student ages, from infant through adult. Work in an environment where noise levels are usually moderate to high and stand in the water for up to 4 consecutive hours. Be prepared for shifts and support the team through regular engagement with team communications. Must have active Lifeguard Certification Available Monday through Thursday (4pm - 8pm) and Saturdays (8am - noon). High school diploma or equivalent. Reliable transportation to work at both Northside Chicago locations. (See location details below.) Enthusiastic personality. Must complete all required British Swim School Aquatics-specific training and testing. Must maintain existing certifications throughout the length of employment. Experience working with children.

A Swim Instructor at British Swim School teaches swim lessons to children and adults, starting at 3 months old using our fun, gentle and progressive methods. You will receive extensive training to build your confidence and ability to work with a variety of swimmers and abilities. Having fun and interacting with our swimmers is an important part of the role! A strong focus is placed on providing survival swim techniques living out the British Swim School mission and making a big impact on decreasing drowning.

British Swim School of Northern Chicagoland operates from two locations; one on the Northwest side of Chicago (60630) and one in Rosemont (60018). This job is for these, and no other, British Swim School locations. Both locations require transfers from train lines to bus if commuting by public transportation.
