Primary Location : Richmond, CA
Schedule : 12 hr rotating (day shift 7am-7pm; night shift 7pm-7am)
Reports to : Operations Supervisor
Compensation : $40.62 / hr, non-exempt (fully qualified hourly rate, after training, $50.40 / hr)

About This Role and You
Chemical Operators at our Richmond, California Sulfuric Acid Plant require the mechanical ability to safely perform general plant operator duties. Work includes tank truck and railcar vessel opening, loading and unloading, operation of pumps, piping, valves and general plant upkeep and maintenance. They also assist the Acid and Shift Utility Operators or other plant personnel as needed. This job requires climbing stairs and ladders and also lifting (within OSHA guidelines) while wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) including full face respirators, when required. This job consists of outside elements where radiant heat or cold is normal work environment, and rotating shifts.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Relevant experience in an industrial plant environment, performing similar duties is preferred.
- Must be mechanically inclined
- Must be able to work scheduled 12-hour days / nights with intermittent 14 16 hour days for emergency operations / repairs.
- Ability to use computer effectively, Microsoft programs, maintenance management system, e-mail, etc.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, manufacturer's literature, diagrams or schematics.
Medical Requirement
