We are looking for a Commercial Loan Officer to join our Commercial Lending department! The Commercial Loan Officer will work from our corporate office in Metairie. This position is classified as Hybrid, which means that this person will work in the office 2 or more days a week but may work from home if needed by the organization.
Our Commercial Loan Officer position has the base salary of $93,600.00 to $125,000.00 annually + incentives, with consideration for skills and experience. The Commercial Loan Officer has the opportunity to grow within the organization.
Role :
The Commercial Loan Officer is responsible for identifying, developing, and maintaining relationships with commercial members while managing a portfolio of commercial loans. This role involves evaluating loan applications, gathering and analyzing financial and related data to assess overall creditworthiness, structuring loans that meet the member's financial objectives while safeguarding the Credit Union's interests, and ensuring adherence to the Credit Union's lending policies, guidelines, and federal regulations.
Major Duties and Responsibilities :
- Identifies and generates leads to meet the goals of commercial lending department. Takes commercial loan applications. Reviews members financial condition and assesses the borrower's ability to re-pay the loan. Completes or directs completion of all loan documents and closes loans.
- Participates in developing lending and deposit business for the company. Calls on clients to expand existing business; calls on prospects seeking opportunities to expand the company's client base.
- Helps monitor existing loan portfolio to maintain a high-quality asset base. Supports the Commercial Portfolio manager with up-to-date client files including current balance sheets, profit & loss statements, cash flow projections and all loan documentation.
- Assists in collection of past due loans.
- Assists customers with any loan-related questions and concerns.
- Must comply with all company policies and procedures, applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control.
Knowledge and Skills
EXPERIENCE
5 to 10 years of Commercial lending experience. SBA 7a lending experience preferred. Demonstrated sale driving, relationship management, and results driven experience.
EDUCATION / CERTIFICATIONS / LICENSES
Undergraduate or equivalent experience.
INTERPERSONAL SKILLS
Customer service, Written and Oral communication skills, negotiation skills, attention to detail, ability to meet deadlines. Ability to handle multiple clients and ensure organization.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Perform primarily sedentary work with limited physical exertion and occasional lifting of up to 10 lbs. Must be capable of climbing / descending stairs in emergency situation. Must be able to operate routine office equipment including telephone, copier, facsimile, and calculator. Must be able to routinely perform work on computer for an average of 4-6 hours per day. Must be able to work extended hours whenever required or requested by management. Must be capable of regular, reliable and timely attendance.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Must be able to routinely perform work indoors in climate-controlled private office with minimal noise MENTAL AND / OR
EMOTIONAL REQUIREMENTS
