Job Description :

Triage Experience Must....We are seeking an experienced Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse (L&D RN) to provide exceptional nursing care in an acute care setting. The L&D RN will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care for patients in the labor and delivery unit. This role involves working closely with interdisciplinary teams to ensure safe, effective, and compassionate care throughout the patient’s childbirth experience. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in hospital-based acute care, especially in Labor and Delivery, and a commitment to providing high-quality, patient-centered care.

Key Responsibilities :

Deliver safe, effective, and excellent nursing care in the Labor & Delivery unit, in alignment with the department’s philosophy and goals.

Conduct ongoing assessments of patients' physical and psychosocial condition, formulating a care plan in collaboration with the patient and interdisciplinary team.

Utilize the nursing process to provide individualized care, ensuring patient safety, comfort, hygiene, disease prevention, and restorative measures.

Administer medications and treatments as prescribed and monitor their effectiveness.

Educate patients and families on health management and self-care following treatment and discharge.

Coordinate patient care activities with nursing, physician, and allied health teams to promote optimal health outcomes.

Supervise and delegate tasks to nursing care team members based on their capability and scope of practice.

Advocate for patients, ensuring that care aligns with their health needs and preferences.

Provide culturally competent, age-appropriate, and ethically sound care in accordance with legal and professional standards.

Required Qualifications :

Minimum of 3 years of acute care hospital experience, specifically in Labor and Delivery.

Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing (Associate Degree or BSN accepted).

Current CA RN License required.

AHA BLS & ACLS certifications (must meet compliance requirements).

Strong communication skills (written, verbal, and electronic) for effective patient care and coordination.

Ability to perform physical duties, including lifting, bending, standing, walking, and fine motor skills.

Preferred Qualifications :

Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) systems for documentation and patient management.

Previous experience in patient advocacy and complaint resolution.

Ability to thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced healthcare environment.
