Job Overview
A Local / Yard Driver has the primary responsibility of relocating and transporting trailers on facility properties as well as transporting products and providing local pick up and delivery duties. When not required to perform yard jockey or local driver duties this person will perform all duties of the loading dock associates.
Highlights of your role
Relocate and transport trailers on facility property as required to stage trailers for loading and unloading to meet required receiving, production and shipping goals.
- Transport product locally between plants and local vendors.
- Transport product locally between plant and local customers and provide excellent customer service.
- Check truck equipment and supplies to ensure road worthiness.
- Maintains all Department of Transportation (DOT) and Marvin regulations.
- Maintain responsibility for proper documentation of department data.
- Ensure a safe and clean work environment.
