St. Catherine of Siena School is seeking a full time Preschool lead teacher for a maternity leave from September 1, 2024- February 28, 2025. The position will begin in late August 2024 to plan and collaborate with the current teacher. We are looking for a dynamic and dedicated person to join our team of exceptional educators. Located in the beautiful Maple Leaf community of north Seattle, our school currently serves 275 students in preschool through 8th grade. The preschool program consists of three classes, including a 3-year class, a 4-year class, and a multi-age class. This position is for our full-day, 4-year old PreK class. This program is licensed by the State of Washington. We offer a competitive salary and a welcoming, inclusive work environment.
JOB DESCRIPTION : The Lead Preschool Teacher is responsible for planning and providing daily classroom instruction for the preschool class. The Lead Preschool Teacher will promote all aspects of early childhood development (social-emotional, fine motor, gross motor, cognitive, language, literacy, mathematics, etc.)
Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in Education or Early Childhood Education
Valid Washington State teacher certificate or ability to obtain preferred
STARS Certification required
Successful preschool teaching experience
Demonstrated successful classroom management skills and use of instructional strategies with diverse student populations
Experience incorporating technology into lessons
Maintain Washington State Department of Early Learning licensing requirements
Practicing Catholic preferred
CPR Certification (Preferred)
Primary Duties :
Collaborate with lead teacher in preparation for the leave of absence
Implement a developmentally appropriate curriculum aligned to Early Learning and Developmental Guidelines in collaboration the other lead teachers
Incorporate developmentally appropriate daily classroom activities
Regularly evaluate and document student progress towards PreK or Kindergarten readiness
Manage and collaborate with other staff members and instructional aides
Maintain a physical environment that is clean, safe, orderly, and conducive to optimal growth and development of children
Assess children as required and provide regular reports to parents on student progress
Attend training and staff meetings as required
Adhere to all areas of WAC compliance
Other duties as assigned by administration
OTHER :
Salary : $45,600 - $63,840 per year (This will be prorated for September-February, as it is an annual salary rate while the job is a 6-month position). Any offered salary is determined based on internal equity, internal salary ranges, market data, applicant’s skills, and prior relevant experience, degrees, and certifications.
