QUALIFICATIONS / RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Valid commercial driver's license (CDL - Class A) with appropriate endorsements.
- Experience moving construction equipment is REQUIRED. Familiarity with local and federal transportation regulations.
- The job consists of moving construction equipment, including safely loading, unloading and hauling the equipment to its destination throughout CT and New England.
- Must understand overweight routing as most of our loads require overweight permits.
- Must be able to apply for and manage their own permits.
- Knowledge of load securing techniques and weight distribution.
- Possess an understanding of the operation of various pieces of equipment, sufficient to load / unload from the transport vehicle.
- Ability to perform routing vehicle inspections and maintenance checks.
- Ability to perform strenuous work in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Ability to perform all job duties in a safe and efficient manner.
- Ability to perform work in daytime and nighttime conditions
- Strong communication skills for coordinating with ground crews and dispatch.
PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT :
Employees are required to wear personal protective equipment in designated operations and construction areas as outlined by OSHA and state agencies. Protective equipment that is required for this position : Hardhat, safety glasses, reinforced toed shoes, hand protection, safety vest / high visibility clothing for any work in the field. Hearing protection.
