Convergentz, a division of Hunton Group , has a new and exciting opportunity to join our organization as a Security & Low Voltage (SLV) Installer / Tech . The selected candidate will be responsible for installation of structured cabling, security solutions, and other low voltage solutions for new construction projects and existing customer locations.

Responsibilities :

• Responsible for installation and service of systems and equipment on assigned projects, ensuring customer satisfaction.
• Use a variety of tools, blueprints, engineering specifications, notebook PCs, to install, diagnose, repair, and program Security & Low Voltage equipment.
• Plan and prepare for on-site installation and repairs by examining the building layout, anticipating difficulties, staging materials and coordinating on-site work, as necessary.
• Maintain equipment through preventative maintenance programs, equipment inspection and functionality checks, identifying wear, maladjustment, miscalibration, malfunction, and drift.
• Terminate network cables (Cat5, Cat 6 / Cat6A, optical fiber, etc.)
• Set up and terminate network racks, trays, and associated equipment in technology rooms.
• Document work completion and project status through paperwork and devices such as notebooks, iPad, on each job.
• Create schedules, checklists / punch lists throughout construction project and closeout process.
• Represent the company by serving as direct customer contact.
• Support SLV Technicians by providing field support.
• Utilize project plans and documentation to prioritize and schedule work.
• Determine parts to order for repairs.
• Work as part of a team or team lead.
