About the Job
Provide compassionate care and treatment needed for patients’ mental health, well-being, and other relevant aspects of mental health. Identify possible mental health issues; diagnose and provide treatment plans accordingly through therapies, medications, or a combination. Refer patients to other allied medical and non-medical professionals to provide holistic care.
Duties and Responsibilities :
Conduct initial interviews and examine medical records to evaluate patients.
Record comprehensive patient details, including medical histories and essential information from patients or previous healthcare providers.
Formulate precise diagnoses of potential mental, neurological, and behavioral conditions.
Collaborate with physicians, psychologists, psychiatric nurses, social workers, and other specialists to ensure accurate diagnoses.
Order necessary laboratory tests and procedures to support the diagnostic process.
Deliver empathetic counseling to patients and develop strategies for symptom management.
Educate caregivers and other relevant individuals to support patient well-being.
Develop personalized treatment plans that address individual therapeutic and medication requirements.
Manage administrative tasks, such as clinical charting and medication logs.
Qualifications :
Three years of experience practicing as a Psychiatrist (post-residence) preferred.
Passed the U.S. Medical Licensing Examination, Board-Certified.
Licensed to practice in California.
Current California Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) certificate in good standing.
Culturally competent and able to work with a diverse population.
Active participation in continued medical education and membership in a professional organization is highly preferred.
Able to work in Los Angeles, CA.
Experience interacting with people from disadvantaged backgrounds and working in low-income / underserved communities is highly preferred.
