Journeyman Electrician

The Opportunity :

The Licensed Journeyman Electrician will communicate the necessary job status data to the operations management team to assure the successful operation of complete and working systems. The journeyman also leads efforts for safe working practices for the Ideal Energy installation team.

What You’ll Do :

Install and maintain the electrical equipment and wiring that connects the PV system to the electrical grid

Install PV mounting systems and PV modules when necessary

Ensure that all work performed complies with 2014 NEC code and workmanship

Communicate the necessary job status data to the Ideal Energy operations management

Understand and comply with OSHA safety standards for the installation team

Troubleshoot system problems and resolving electrical issues

Train, mentor and develop apprentices

Have a meticulous attention to detail in your overall approach to work

About You :

You have working knowledge and ability to interpret and apply 2014 NEC requirements to PV systems

You are experienced in reading and interpreting one-line drawings and electrical schematics

You have working knowledge and experience replacing residential and commercial electrical services and distribution panels

You are able to work with high voltage systems 600Vdc to 1500Vdc

You are able to work with services 240Vac, 208Vac, and 480Vac in single and three phase systems (and other variations)

You are able to work in extreme environments (example : hot sun, cold, crawl spaces)

You are willing and able to climb ladders, stairs and work in high places

You are capable of lifting 50 lbs

You have a valid state Journeyman Electricians License

You have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

You possess excellent customer service skills

You have excellent written and verbal communication skills

You have a high level of professionalism and a positive demeanor

Location & Schedule :

This will be an in-office position and will include travel to our job-sites within the midwest. Our office hours are 8 : 00am-5 : 00pm, Monday through Friday.
