The Maintenance Helper assists the maintenance lead in performing a variety of tasks to ensure the efficient operation and upkeep of facilities machinery and equipment. This role involves routine maintenance repairs and general support activities under the guidance of experienced maintenance personnel.
JOB DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES
Aid maintenance lead in performing repairs and preventive maintenance on machinery equipment and building systems.
Handle basic maintenance tasks such as changing filters lubricating machinery and replacing light bulbs.
Conduct routine inspections of facilities and equipment to identify potential issues or maintenance needs.
Report any findings to the maintenance supervisor or technician for further action.
Assist in setting up and cleaning up work areas before and after maintenance activities.
Transport tools materials and equipment to and from job sites as needed.
Keep maintenance areas organized and ensure tools and equipment are stored properly.
Assist in maintaining records of maintenance activities and repairs performed.
Secondary Duties and Responsibilities
Perform other related duties as assigned by the maintenance supervisor or lead technician.
Participate in training programs to enhance skills and knowledge related to maintenance tasks.
QUALIFICATIONS
Skills
Basic knowledge of maintenance and repair techniques.
Ability to use hand and power tools effectively and safely.
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
Good problemsolving skills and willingness to learn.
Education
High School Diploma or equivalent
Any vocational training or coursework in maintenance or related fields is a plus
Work Experience
Previous experience in a maintenance or handyman role is preferred but not required.
Familiarity with basic maintenance tasks and procedures is beneficial.
Physical Requirements
Moderate to heavy lifting is required; 2040 pounds frequently and 4560 pounds occasionally
Stamina to perform physical tasks including standing bending and climbing.
Good manual dexterity and handeye coordination.
Ability to work in various environmental conditions including confined spaces and heights.
