About Our Facility : TCI is a high-end, 48-bed, residential facility, licensed and accredited in the State of Illinois. TCI

provides an intensive, 24-hour therapeutic treatment environment for young men from the ages of 12-19. Through milieu

therapy, we promote a community-based, systematic approach that focuses on positive behavior interactions,

interventions and supports within the parameters of a safe, secure and structured milieu environment. Within our milieu

environment, our goal is to build self-esteem, teach individual accountability as well as appropriate coping, social and

problem-solving skills so that our youth gain the tools necessary to interact appropriately with others in various social

settings. Through Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), our clinicians take a goal-oriented approach at turning previously

held maladaptive and distorted thoughts, undesirable feelings and responses, and inappropriate behaviors into those that

are more befitting allowing our youth to successfully execute their environment now and in their future endeavors.

Position Summary :

A maintenance worker’s job is to perform routine and an extensive range of work in the repair and general maintenance of facilities, buildings, and equipment. The Maintenance Worker is responsible for making sure that the facility is clean and free from hazards inside the facility and all the grounds around it. This requires an acute awareness of all surroundings and the safety issues within. The maintenance worker will complete maintenance tasks in order to minimize costs associated with outsourcing maintenance tasks.

Work Environment :

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and / or humid conditions; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; outside weather conditions; risk of electrical shock; and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to occasionally loud.

Requirements : TCI Requirements

Basic knowledge of HVAC, plumbing and electrical systems

Experience using hand and electrical tools

Ability to read technical manuals and drawings

Very good communication and interpersonal skills

Physical stamina and dexterity

Basic Computer Skills to check and send emails, to look for supplies online and to access Google Docs

Education :

• High school diploma or equivalent
• (CMRT) Certified Maintenance & Reliability Technician certificate offered by the Society for Maintenance & Reliability Professionals (SMRP) or Equivalent
