Summary :
The purpose of this position is to service, and repair assigned vehicles and equipment ranging from dump trucks, trailers, loaders, mowers, and work trucks at one of the agency’s two Operations Centers. This is accomplished by performing routine preventative maintenance activities such as changing fluids and filters, repairing / rotating / replacing tires, and checking lights. In addition, the Fleet Technician troubleshoots, diagnoses, and repairs complex vehicles systems by utilizing diagnostic equipment, reading technical schematics, following diagnostic flow charts, and using various online resources. The Fleet Technician will work on all classes and types of vehicles and associated mechanical, pneumatics, and hydraulic systems. Other duties include performing off-site repairs utilizing a service truck, light and heavy-duty asset recovery utilizing a wrecker or heavy haul truck and trailer, performing minor body repairs, fabricating parts, completing related shop activities, and other duties as assigned.
