SUMMARY
The Facilities individual will be responsible for performing repairs and maintenance to the MOC facilities and a variety of equipment including : air conditioning, basic electrical needs, and compressors, by performing the following duties :
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES : To perform this job, an individual must be able to perform the following :
- Trouble shoot, repair and calibrate commercial air conditioning units.
- Install, trouble shoot, repair facility equipment and areas such as : Electrical appliances (refrigerator, microwave, TV) plumbing (sinks, toilet hand wash stations), paint, drywall, ceiling tiles, floor installation.
- Familiarity with HVAC systems and controls
- Consult with vendors regarding problems or issues discovered while servicing their system.
- Perform preventative maintenance and make recommendations regarding parts changes or system overhaul
- Being able to read and understand written instructions
- Have good eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity
- Maintain a brisk and productive pace of activities to complete all assigned tasks within time constraints
- Steady hands and ability to balance well even on high beams or scaffolding
- Lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs. is an essential job function
- Demonstrated strong customer service skills, ability to proactively address customer issues and concerns
QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Ability to solve practical problems and to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
EDUCATION and / or EXPERIENCE
One year certificate from college or degree from technical program or vocational school; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports. Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and procedure manuals.
