Per CCR 249.3, this job control may be used to fill subsequent vacancies.
Under the supervision of the Secretary-Manager III (CEO), the Maintenance Worker will clean, set up, and maintain buildings and grounds at the Amador County Fairgrounds.
- Perform any repairs that the building may need such as replacing light bulbs, water leaks, fixing the swamp coolers and any other necessary building repairs.
- Ensure that the trash bins are constantly emptied and that new trash bags are put in place of the old ones.
- Prepare buildings for the set-up and tear-down of rental equipment to include but not limited to staging platforms, tables, chairs, podium, and projectors.
- Ensure that the bathrooms are kept with the necessary items such as toilet paper, paper towels, seat protectors, hand sanitizer and hand soap.
- Operate an assortment of equipment for different tasks such as tractors, dump trucks, skip-loaders, aerial lifts, water trucks, lawn equipment such as blowers, mowers, trimmers, and electric hand tools utilizing department’s safety guidelines as needed.
- Use the lawn mower to mow the grass in areas such as our carnival lot, meadows lot and our gardens.
- Use the weed eater to cut small weeds and groundcover. They will use the supplies needed to maintain the grass during all seasons in the year.
- Uses the tractor to dress the arenas, as required.
- Operate heavy and / or large equipment such as a Forklift, Scissor Lift, Boom Lift, Backhoe, Tractors, Lawn Mower, Blower, Weed Eater, Table Saw, and Water Truck in conjunction with necessary work.
- Use the forklift to move around heavy crates of home items within the exterior and interior of our fairgrounds.

Working Conditions
The work is performed outdoors, resulting in exposure to wind, rain, extended sun, and varying temperatures. Work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks which require following basic safety precautions including wearing protective equipment such as goggles, masks, welding face shields and gloves. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and bend at the waist and kneel and is occasionally required to squat, climb, twist at the waist and neck.
The incumbent is required to possess and maintain a valid CA Driver’s License and good driving record.
All 26th DAA employees must adhere to the Injury and Illness Prevention Program as set by the Safety Committee.
All 26th DAA employees are expected to be team oriented and always maintain professional behavior and positive communication when dealing with the public and fellow employees.
Occasionally work Saturdays, Sundays, holidays, and irregular hours. During the annual fair the incumbent is required to work long or odd hours, different shifts and / or weekends.
