Minimum Qualifications :
Requires technical knowledge in the field acquired through an apprenticeship, a 2-year degree, or professional certificate. Please contact your Human Resources office for an evaluation of education / experience in lieu of the required minimum qualifications.
Position Summary :
The purpose of this position is to support the operations of the student insurance plans by responding to inquiries, providing information, and assisting students and parents with the student health insurance plans. This position will also assist employees and retirees with benefits and retirement plan questions and issues, and determine, coordinate and implement solutions to benefits and retirement plan issues as appropriate.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and / or Competencies :
- Organized, detail oriented and able to complete benefits processes.
- Ability to communicate well with students and employees at all levels and co-workers as well as vendors, third party administrators and other USG employees.
- Ability to do routine math computations.
- Ability to coordinate and complete administrative projects
- Ability to research and solve problems with benefits.
- Ability to compose memos and letters to explain benefits processes and solutions to problems.
- Experience with Banner student system
- Experience with an HRIS system such as PeopleSoft, ADP or Workday.
- Experience with Excel, Word, PowerPoint
- Knowledge of employee benefits and retirement plans.
