Position Overview

StepStone is seeking candidates with strong quantitative, qualitative, and interpersonal skills for an Analyst position within the Real Estate Market Research team. The Analyst will primarily be responsible for supporting comprehensive market research report deliverables across different sectors and markets, contributing to the development of StepStone Real Estate's market outlook through data analysis. Additionally, the Analyst will collaborate with the advisory team to address client inquiries, participate in GP meetings to gather market insights, and assist in fund due diligence by analyzing portfolio data and formulating recommendations.

Essential Job Functions

• Contribute to market research using publicly available information and proprietary databases to identify, quantify and analyze macroeconomic trends across different sectors and markets
• Assist in the production of SRE House Views and white paper publications, including data collection, trend analysis and power point presentations
• Utilize MySQL to extract data from proprietary databases, ensuring thorough data cleaning and validation to facilitate analysis
• Employ statistical methods and develop models using R, Python or Excel to find significant trends
• Perform ad hoc analysis to be used across StepStone Real Estate’s due diligence process (R or Python, and Excel)
• Extract actionable insights from historical data, evaluating its implications, and communicating findings effectively to internal teams and senior management
• Remain organized amidst competing priorities, consistently delivering high-quality work
• Prepare comprehensive written documentation detailing data, models, and scripts
• Support Portfolio Management and SRE Market Research team as needed
