The Role : As theManager - Market Research, reporting to the Director of Pricing Excellence, you will play a key role on the Pricing Excellence team that is involved in researching, benchmarking, and communicating market information to the global commercial organization. You will support the procurement team with information and analysis on direct and indirect raw materials as well as develop models and forecasts to provide insight to the commercial team. Additionally, you will also be the focal point for collating market data, developing and maintaining databases, conducting ad-hoc and long term research, and communicating information across the commercial organization to improve decision making and business results. This position can be based out of the Woodlands, TX or Schenectady, NY office.

How You Will Make an Impact :

• Improve raw material sourcing effectiveness by monitoring and analyzing chemical market data and identifying areas for price improvement. Review findings with Category Managers to drive business results. Support the build out and improvement of system based models to improve sourcing effectiveness globally.
• Stay abreast of raw material market trends. Capture and analyze market intelligence from internal and external sources and incorporate into commercial models to provide updates, strategic outlooks, and guidance to the global commercial teams. Efficiently communicate, standardize, and automate information through use of Power BI.
• Perform ad-hoc raw material and supplier research with production of presentations and reports.
• Participate in chemical industry conferences and events. Proactively build and maintain relationships with external contacts (e.g. 3rd party consulting agencies and / or other market players) to expand in-house knowledge base and help explore new potential sources for raw materials.
