As a Lab Engineer you'll work on a broad range of projects in a laboratory environment, that will challenge you to learn and grow in your career. Working side by side with designers, test and manufacturing engineers, you'll use your education, experience and growing expertise to develop and evaluate new and innovative technology to survive in the most hostile of environments.

In this role you will :

Coordinate with other disciplines such as Design Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality Engineering, and Procurement

Interface with customers in the development of test plans, performance of laboratory testing and evaluation of data

Prepare samples and measure physical, performance, and processing properties of representative materials and parts using standard and specialized equipment and instrumentation

Perform laboratory analyses on test samples / parts using a wide range of equipment from handheld fixtures to highly specialized test instruments.

Prepare laboratory reports

We're looking for :

A self-starter who develops solutions to technical issues

A motivated individual who's able to work closely within a geographically diverse team to resolve technical issues

Someone with the ability to handle shifting priorities, multiple projects and timeline pressure to meet deadlines

Someone comfortable with communicating in a variety of forums

The ability to work with management and program representatives at several levels

Basic Qualifications :

Materials Science and Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related degree.

Experience or coursework in a laboratory environment

Coursework / knowledge of electrical testing, or materials testing and metallurgy

Experience in the review of laboratory test results, evaluation of data and completion of related documentation and the final lab report

Good writing, communication and interpersonal skills

Desired Skills :

Familiarity with ASTM, AMS, or MIL specifications related to metals and electrical testing of materials

Familiarity with standards related to testing of Electrical, Electronic, and Electromechanical Parts

Ability to Work Remotely : Onsite Full-time : The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.

Work Schedules : Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Schedule for this Position : 9x80 every other Friday off

Pay Rate : The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Washington or Washington DC is $57,500 - $101,430. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education / training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees : accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.

This position is incentive plan eligible.
