Job descriptionEducation : Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. Experience : 4+ years of industry experience in mechanical design and manufacturing. Technical Skills : Proficiency in Siemens NX for CAD modeling and drafting. Strong understanding and application of GD&T principles. Knowledge of CAM software is a plus.
Mechanical Design Engineer
The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, drafting, and developing product layouts using industry-standard CAD software while adhering to GD&T principles. They must have a strong understanding of mechanical components, feature analysis, and product development. Experience with CAD design is required, and CAM knowledge is a plus. This role also involves working on the shop floor to troubleshoot design and manufacturing issues, ensuring high-quality production outcomes.
Responsibilities :
- Design & Drafting : Create, modify, and optimize product layouts using NX and other CAD tools based on customer specifications and engineering best practices.
- Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) : Apply and interpret GD&T standards to ensure manufacturability and compliance with design requirements.
- Feature Analysis & Product Testing : Assess design feasibility through tolerance analysis, FEA, and prototyping.
- Troubleshooting & Shop Floor Support : Work closely with manufacturing teams to identify and resolve issues related to machining, assembly, and quality control.
- Defective Product Analysis : Review and analyze failed components, identifying root causes and implementing design improvements.
- CAM & Manufacturing Integration (Preferred) : Support the integration of CAM software into the design process to optimize machining and production workflows.
