Job Description
Space is a critical domain, connecting our technologies, our security and our humanity. While others view space as a destination, we see it as a realm of possibilities, where we can do more — we can innovate, invest, inspire and integrate our capabilities to transform the future.
At Lockheed Martin Space, we aim to harness the full potential of space to cultivate innovation, reduce costs, and push the boundaries of what technology can achieve. We’re creating future-ready solutions, focusing on resiliency and urgency through our 21st Century Security® vision. We’re erasing boundaries and forming partnerships across industries and around the world. We’re advancing spacecraft and the workforce to fuel the next generation. And we’re reimagining how space can connect us, ensuring security and prosperity.
Join us in shaping a new era in space and find a career that's built for you.
Be a part of the Artemis and Orion teams taking astronauts to the Moon and beyond. This is your chance to be at the center of a generational program that will land the first woman and person of color on the Moon. As Structures Engineer on the Orion program located at the Kennedy Space Center, you will be responsible for the planning, preparation, and execution of Mechanical Engineering activities for the Orion spacecraft for Artemis II (first crewed flight), Artemis III (lunar landing), and future missions.
Summary of Key Duties for this position :
- Oversee the development, production, assembly, and verification of the spacecraft's structure
- Be the technical advocate through the product's lifecycle
- Support systems / hardware integration, test planning and execution
- Lead nonconformance evaluations, failure investigations and anomaly resolution boards for the spacecraft's structures components
- Collaborate with team members across the program including systems engineering, CPEs / RSEs, test labs, manufacturing, quality, and NASA
