Job Description - Mechanical Engineering Intern - Anchorage Fab Shop, AK (ANC007D) :

Job Purpose :

Under close supervision, performs very basic engineering tasks in support of other engineers, which are clearly defined and require the application of standard design engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria.

The position is based in Anchorage at the Worley Fabrication Facility, on a 5 day a week work schedule. Schedule subject to change pending the project(s) needs. Position is anticipated to last about 8 months, with potential to extend.

Essential Job Functions :

• Provides technical support to more experienced engineers.
• Prepares sketches and performs very basic calculations in support of broader engineering activities involving the design of equipment, components, structures, or systems.
• Gathers and records information to be used for writing specifications.
• Reviews vendor information to assure compliance with specifications.
• Attend training sessions, seminars, and appropriate educational classes as required by department.

The work generally requires routine walking, sitting, standing, squatting, climbing, stooping, bending, twisting, reaching, and carrying items. An individual will be required to work most hours in an industrial environment and will need to be able to quickly respond to a change in work demands.
