Responsibilities
Fort Lauderdale behavioral Health Center is a 182-bed, acute care psychiatric hospital located in the beautiful Oakland Park neighborhood of Fort Lauderdale, FL. FLBHC features individual units for children, adolescents, adults, and seniors, and offers inpatient acute care, partial hospitalization, and intensive outpatient programs. On average, over 10,000 patients receive care from our compassionate health care team each year at Fort Lauderdale Behavioral Health Center.
We are pleased to announce the following available position :
Hospital Biller / Collector
- Maximize cash collections and minimize bad debt, while maintaining the integrity of each patient's account.
- Maintain knowledge Medicare / Medicaid billing requirements
- Understanding of Medicare codes for correct claim billing
- Working knowledge of FISS system to adjust and correct RTP claims
- Institutionalized billing a must with knowledge of UB 04
- Claims submission, claim edits, Edit / update claim information to meet billing compliance guidelines for electronic and paper claim submission
- Insurance follow up, denial management, patient follow-up, for assigned payers
- Accuracy in the handling of refunds, overpayments on accounts and transfers payments to the appropriate account
- Accurately and thoroughly document pertinent collection activity performed
- Verify claims adjudication utilizing appropriate resources and applications
- Initiate telephone and / or letter contact with parties responsible for reimbursement for services provided
- Demonstrate knowledge of HIPAA privacy and security regulations by appropriately handling patient information
