Job description

Position Overview

The Medical Director at Spectrum Medical Care Center is a critical leadership role responsible for overseeing comprehensive, inclusive healthcare services for the LGBTQ+ community and allies. You will embody Spectrum's core values of Stigma-Free, Purposeful, Excellence, Compassion, Teamwork, Resilience, Unity, and Mindfulness while driving innovative initiatives to advance health equity and end the HIV epidemic.

Clinical Leadership

Provide comprehensive patient care, establishing ongoing relationships through diagnosis, treatment, and medical management
Supervise and recruit Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) and clinical staff
Ensure adherence to evidence-based clinical guidelines
Conduct monthly chart audits and performance reviews
Develop and implement clinical protocols and policies
Lead monthly medical provider meetings
Provide medical education and consultation to local and national medical communities

Operational Oversight

Collaborate with leadership to set clinical performance benchmarks

Manage daily clinical operations and staff performance

Oversee utilization management and care coordination

Participate in 340B Committee meetings

Develop and maintain departmental budgets

Establish partnerships with pharmacies and community referral entities

Represent Spectrum Medical at community events

Team Development

Mentor and train Advanced Practice Providers

Recruit and retain high-performing clinical staff

Foster a culture of teamwork and excellence

Provide professional development opportunities

Community Engagement

Collaborate with community partners and healthcare organizations

Represent Spectrum at medical forums

Participate in multidisciplinary case management meetings

Oversee outreach event staffing and clinical supervision

Evaluate clinical outcomes of community programs

Compliance and Quality Assurance

Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations

Conduct monthly clinical service audits

Lead quality improvement initiatives

Monitor emerging healthcare policies

Evaluate medical performance and clinical outcomes

Qualifications

MD or DO with Arizona Medical Board License

7-10 years medical management experience

Unrestricted medical license

DEA license and buprenorphine prescription eligibility

AAHIVM certification (preferred)

Strong leadership and organizational skills

Demonstrated experience in LGBTQ+ healthcare

Bilingual Spanish skills preferred
