Job description

Sr. Editor, Media Labs

You are passionate about the intersection of humans, technology, content, and media. You think about the human experience from the first touch to the last, and are delighted by helping people shift their mindsets to achieve their health and well-being goals.

Our in-house Media Labs team produces multimedia content that makes a tangible impact on our members' health, well-being, and cardiometabolic health. We create content of all sizes — from engaging emails for well-being programs to developing comprehensive 16-week health interventions.

As Sr. Editor, you will excel at creating content that resonates, motivates, and engages. You are a master at storytelling, tapping into motivation, providing evidence-based recommendations, and formulating actionable steps to put learning into action.

You will combine the innovativeness of a writer with the practical focus of a project manager. You will be able to suggest strategies for content and ideas for stories and see them through to publication.

What You’d Do

  • Writing and Editing Skills
  • Ideate, draft, outline, and write health and well-being interventions delivered via articles, mini-challenges, scriptwriting, and complete 16-week behavior change courses.
  • Write engaging short-form content, including email, in-product messaging, SMS, and web.
  • Translate complex topics into easy-to-understand, actionable content that creates opportunities for reflection and ignites behavior change.
  • Create a hierarchy of information and flow to everything you write.
  • Talented at using storytelling to inspire and make content memorable.
  • Source quality, impactful information from subject-matter-experts and evidence-based organizations and institutions.
  • Masterfully incorporate best practices from learning and behavior change science into your work.
  • Edit and proofreading support for organizational writing (in product, internal, and external communication).

Content development and strategy

  • Align and deliver content that supports team purpose, organizational values and priorities, and client needs.
  • Mentorship and guidance for internal contributors, as well as the ability to communicate and foster desired tone, depth, and outcomes.
  • Balance timeliness with the need to be evergreen. Speak to the needs and motivations of the present in a way that can be applied and valuable in the future.
  • Build for health and well-being outcomes, developing content that makes a tangible impact.
  • Pull, pivot, and analyze data on programs you create. Use data to inform ongoing team strategy.
  • Mental time travel – the ability to consider what was learned in the past, know what needs to and can be done in the present, and always consider scalability and growth in the future.
  • Leadership

  • Enjoys brainstorming and putting ideas into action.
  • Support company-wide initiatives including collaborating with client experience, product, and other teams to support product updates and client refresh.
  • Integrative. Comfortable facilitating meetings with stakeholders to gather feedback. Applies feedback to make improvements.
  • Ability to strategically lead team objectives and initiatives and manage projects end-to-end, you are self-sufficient and have a unique problem-solving ability.
  • What You’ll Bring

  • 5+ years of writing experience, preferably in a health and well-being space.
  • Preferably Bachelors degree in Behavioral Science, or a Professional Certified Coach
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite, Airtable, Miro, and other internal company platforms.
  • A strong leader who motivates a team to achieve goals while creating an environment of communication, feedback, flexibility, and belonging.
  • Ability to communicate priorities, barriers, and next steps on projects.
  • Track and deliver multiple concurrent projects and initiatives with ease.
  • Thoughtful. High attention to detail, organized. Your approach leads to producing high-quality content with maximum impact.
  • Curious, love to participate in draft-thinking, and imagine what is possible.
  • Resourceful problem solver who finds ways to move forward, regardless of resources or roadblocks.
  • View feedback as an opportunity for improvement and learning.
