Job Description
Degree in American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreting, certified ASL Interpreter credentials, and 1+ year of experience as an ASL Interpreter in educational settings. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A professional Sign Language Interpreter is needed to provide support within a school environment. This role requires traveling to various school locations in the Fort Lauderdale, FL area to facilitate communication access for students, staff, and families using American Sign Language (ASL).
Key Responsibilities :
- Interpret spoken language into American Sign Language and vice versa during classroom instruction, meetings, and school events.
- Facilitate effective communication between deaf or hard-of-hearing students and their teachers, peers, and school personnel.
- Ensure full access to educational materials and discussions for all participants.
- Collaborate with educators and support staff to foster an inclusive learning environment.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to professional ethical standards.
