If so, AmTrust is looking to add a talented experienced Data Scientist to their growing Data Science & AI Team with specific commercial insurance pricing experience. AmTrust Financial Services Inc. is a multinational property and casualty insurer specializing in coverage for small to mid-sized businesses. Responsibilities
As an experienced Pricing Data Scientist, you will lead projects and unveil insights in our data that will allow us to improve our pricing and underwriting decision-making process both at an operational and strategic level. You will use the latest machine learning algorithms to develop predictive models to help us assess risks more accurately, , price more effectively and understand and serve our customers more thoroughly.
Qualifications
Qualified applicants would have an MA / MSC / Ph.D. in Computer Science, Statistics, Data Science, Economics or other quantitative field, and at least 5 years' experience in the following skill areas :
Developing and implementing loss cost models, retention, conversion, and any other relevant pricing models for commercial insurance
- Knowledge and familiarity with embedding into the model and pricing applications various 3rd party commercial insurance data sources
- Filing of predictive models and pricing structures across the different states
- Python and R
- Machine learning algorithms (i.e. GLM, Boosting, Deep Learning, etc...)
- Model performance measures and validation techniques (i.e. K-fold cross-validation, train / test split, etc...)
- SQL and relational databases (both transactional and analytical environments)
- Deploying predictive models into production
- Collaborative development and version control systems (i.e. Git)
- Strong leadership capabilities and great working relationships with different stakeholders
- Ability to communicate complex data in a simple, actionable way
- Ability to visualize data in the most effective way possible for a given project or study
- Analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and with team members from different backgrounds
- Excellent attention to detail
