Appointment Term 12- 12 / 12 months Is this position essential personnel according to the inclement weather policy? No Pay Information $54,500 Pay Schedule FLSA Designation Non-Exempt Position Summary This position provides complex and responsible administrative support to the Department of Biomechanics chair and faculty. This position requires independent judgment; ability to prepare documents with minimal instruction; make decisions based on broad general guidelines related to office management; maintain and monitor department budgets; personnel and payroll records; coordinate with department chair related to workload, schedules, etc. and other responsibilities as assigned. Job Duties Responsibility Area : Budget Duties : Maintain department operating budget including but not limited to processing requisitions, reconcile monthly reports, track purchases, generate reports for department chair which include year-end projections as well as coordinate and monitor other funds allocated to the department including Communities or Practice, Work-Study Allocations, etc. Percentage Of Time 45 Essential Function : Yes Responsibility Area : Human Resources Responsibilities Duties : Develop and post job descriptions for work-study students, student workers, and graduate assistants; prepare new hire and rehire paperwork for part-time faculty and students (PAF, PDF, W-4, Direct Deposit, and I-9); etc. Complete contract letters for all part-time faculty each semester. Percentage Of Time 20 Essential Function : Yes Responsibility Area : Travel Duties : Coordinate faculty travel; communicate college and school travel policies and procedures; create Travel Authorization; process conference registrations; assist with airline bookings; process expense reimbursements. Percentage Of Time 10 Essential Function : Yes Responsibility Area : Course schedule preparation Duties : Assist with course schedule preparation and related tasks including preparation and submission of part-time faculty request each semester. Prepare summer schedules including salaries for both full-time and part-time faculty for chair review and approval. Process course cancellations and other scheduling changes as requested by the chair. Percentage Of Time 10 Essential Function : Yes Responsibility Area : Faculty workloads Duties : Process full-time tenure track and tenured faculty workloads coordinating with the department chair. This would include gathering research forms from faculty, teaching assignment information, inputting data, creating report and submitting to Dean’s Office. Percentage Of Time 5 Essential Function : Yes Responsibility Area : Administrative Assistant Duties : Serve as Administrative Assistant to the department chair. Act as liaison to faculty, staff, students and other colleges and departments on campus. In addition provide administrative support for Biomechanics faculty members, issue permits as needed, assist with technology software and e-mail questions, etc. Percentage Of Time 5 Essential Function : Yes Responsibility Area : Assist Biomechanics Building Coordinator Duties : Assist Biomechanics Building Coordinator as requested.
