Join our thriving ophthalmology practice in Forest Hills, where we've been providing exceptional eye care to our community for over 22 years. We're looking for a professional, detail-oriented medical receptionist to be the welcoming face of our practice and support our patient-focused team. Compensation & Schedule :
- $22-26 / hour based on experience and qualifications
- Full-time, on-site position
- Monday-Friday hours, no weekends, occasional evenings Benefits :

- Greet patients warmly and manage check-in / check-out processes
- Handle multi-line phone system, schedule appointments, and address patient inquiries
- Process insurance verifications, authorizations, and patient registration
- Maintain accurate patient records in electronic medical records (EMR) system
- Collect co-pays and assist with billing procedures
- Coordinate patient flow and support clinical staff with administrative tasks
- Ensure HIPAA compliance and maintain confidentiality of patient information
- 2+ years professional office experience with administrative duties (medical offices, corporate settings, or professional services)
- Strong software skills with databases, scheduling systems, or EMR platforms (we use EyeMD EMR and Open PM)
- Excellent customer service and professional communication skills
- Understanding of confidential information handling and HIPAA / PHI requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Medical office or healthcare administrative experience
- EMR systems experience (Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth, NextGen)
- Insurance verification and billing knowledge
- Medical terminology familiarity
- Bilingual abilities (English / Spanish)
