Qualifications
Position Summary
Responsible for supervision of the Medical Record functions for Talbott Recovery. Maintain and securing all medical records within a facility's medical records department. Maintain the medical records in accordance with federal and state guidelines, as well as in accordance with Talbott Recovery established policies and procedures. Collect data for reporting. Maintain compliance with HIPAA requirements as well as general customer service.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform assembly and analysis on medical records within 48 hours of discharge.
- Accurately notes and logs chart deficiencies and communicates deficiencies to the appropriate staff.
- Responsible for assigning and entering ICD-10-CM admitting diagnosis code in the HIS for all inpatient and outpatient accounts.
- Manage the unbilled accounts report to ensure timely claims submission.
- Process release of information requests in accordance to HIPAA confidentiality and privacy guidelines and Talbott policy and procedures.
- Demonstrates knowledge of Federal and State Confidentiality regulations and knowledge of release of information policies and procedures.
- Process all medical records requests received from the Central Business Office and Utilization Management.
