Pay Range : $ 20.00 / HR- 22.00 / HR

Position Overview
As the Medical Records Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in maintaining resident medical records and health information systems. Your responsibilities will include ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations, organizing and updating records, and supporting staff in retrieving necessary documentation. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
Key Responsibilities
Records Management
Retrieve, assemble, and file resident medical records (both manually and electronically).
Maintain and organize medical documentation, including nurses’ notes, assessments, progress notes, lab reports, x-ray results, and correspondence.
Ensure that incomplete records are returned to the appropriate personnel for completion.
Establish procedures for the proper handling, filing, and indexing of resident records.
Maintain a log of authorized information released from medical records.
Assist in the development of procedures to ensure compliance with regulations and facility policies.
Compliance & Confidentiality
Ensure all medical records are maintained in accordance with privacy regulations and facility policies.
Monitor and prevent unauthorized access to protected health information.
Report any suspected violations of privacy and security policies to the Administrator.
Administrative Duties
Respond to telephone inquiries regarding medical records functions.
Retrieve medical records upon request by authorized personnel, such as physicians, nurses, and government agencies.
Maintain admission and discharge registries for residents.
Collect, assemble, and inspect charts for completion before filing.
Coordinate the pick-up and delivery of resident medical records as needed.
Qualifications & Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Experience in medical records management or healthcare administration preferred.
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
Professional demeanor with excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Must have patience, tact, and enthusiasm, with a willingness to handle difficult situations.
Work Schedule
Full-time, 40 hours per week.
Overtime may be required as needed.
