Job description
A company is looking for a Medical Records Technician (Coder-Outpatient and Inpatient).
Key Responsibilities
Assign codes to outpatient and inpatient services using official coding guidelines
Review health record documentation to abstract required medical and demographic data
Utilize computer systems to code, abstract, and transmit data to the national database
Required Qualifications, Training, and Education
U.S. Citizenship is required
Proficiency in medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology
One year of relevant experience or an associate's degree in health information technology
Completion of an AHIMA approved coding program or equivalent training
Possession of relevant coding certifications (e.g., AHIMA or AAPC certification)
