About the Position

KPG Healthcare is currently seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) for a permanent position. As an MLT, you will play a vital role in performing a wide range of clinical laboratory tests, contributing to accurate diagnoses and patient care.. Your expertise in laboratory science and commitment to quality will make you an invaluable asset to our healthcare partners.

Description:

  • Specialty: Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT)
  • Location: Winnemucca, NV
  • Pay: By The Week, after 40,, Depending on experience
  • Shift Time: EVENING, NIGHT SHIFT
  • Weekly Hours: 40

Qualifications:

  • Education: Associate's degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or a related field.
  • Certification: Current certification as a Medical Laboratory Technician (ASCP - MLT) or (AMT - MLT).
  • Licensure: State licensure or certification as required by the state of practice.
  • Experience: Previous experience as an MLT is preferred.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in clinical laboratory techniques, instrumentation, and quality control procedures.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Strong communication Skills, empathy, and a patient-centered approach.
  • Professionalism: Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor, adhering to ethical and confidentiality standards.
  • Physical Requirements: Capable of standing for extended periods, lifting and handling laboratory equipment, and performing physically demanding tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Laboratory Testing: Conduct a variety of clinical laboratory tests, including chemistry, hematology, microbiology, immunology, and blood bank tests, following established protocols and quality control procedures.
  • Specimen Collection: Collect, label, and prepare patient specimens for analysis, ensuring accuracy and proper handling.
  • Instrument Operation: Operate and maintain laboratory instruments and equipment, troubleshoot issues, and perform routine maintenance.
  • Data Analysis: Analyze test results, interpret findings, and accurately report laboratory findings to healthcare providers.
  • Quality Assurance: Monitor and maintain the quality of laboratory procedures, including proficincy testing and adherence to regulatory standars.
  • Documentation: Maintain detailed records of test results, quality control, and instrument maintenance while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Laboratory Safety: Adhere to safety protocols, including proper disposal of hazardous materials and the use of p[ersonal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Inventory Management: Manage laboratory inventory, including reagents, supplies, and equipment, and order necessary items as required.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with healthcare teams to discuss test results, assist with patient diagnosis and treament, and provide consultation as needed.
  • Continuing Education: Stay updated with the latest advancements in laboratory science through ongoing education and professional development.
