You will report to the Plasma Center Manager and support plasma center operations as a Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse).

About the Role :

As a Medical Support Specialist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring donor safety and regulatory compliance. Your responsibilities include determining donor eligibility, managing adverse events, reviewing laboratory results, and informing donors of any unsuitable findings. You will work under the guidance of the Center Manager for operational issues and the Center Physician for medical queries. Familiarity with plasma collection regulations and environmental health and safety standards is essential.

How You Will Contribute

• Determine donor eligibility by effectively managing informed consent, conducting medical history interviews, performing physical examinations, and evaluating laboratory test results.
• Evaluate donor reactions onsite and follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for medical emergencies, including coordinating care with the Center Physician.
• Refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs for unacceptable findings and medical concerns regarding donor safety.
• Support employee vaccination programs and manage incidents, determining any necessary evaluations.
• Act as a Pandemic Coordinator if authorized by Environmental Health and Safety (EHS), addressing local community health threats.
